Medico-legal Specialist
Merrin Philip is an AHPRA registered Occupational Therapist with extensive experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults across community, school, clinical, and culturally diverse settings in Australia and internationally. She is known for her warm, collaborative approach and her ability to translate complex developmental and functional information into clear, practical recommendations that meaningfully support participation and independence.
Merrin has worked across paediatrics, disability, mental health, and community health, with strong expertise in developmental assessment, sensory processing, emotional regulation, and functional capacity evaluation. Her experience spans early childhood through to adulthood, including work with neurodivergent individuals, people with psychosocial disability, and those with complex support needs.
Merrin brings a culturally responsive and trauma‑informed lens to her practice, shaped by her work with Aboriginal communities at Eleanor Duncan Aboriginal Services and her international experience in Singapore. She is skilled in collaborating with families, educators, support coordinators, and multidisciplinary teams to create cohesive, strengths‑based plans that support meaningful outcomes across home, school, and community environments.
Her clinical practice is grounded in evidence‑based assessment, detailed functional analysis, and high‑quality documentation. Merrin is experienced in conducting comprehensive functional capacity assessments, assistive technology evaluations, and developmental assessments, and she has a strong interest in bridging the gap between therapeutic guidance and everyday implementation for families and caregivers.
