Maddie is an AHPRA registered Occupational Therapist with broad experience across acute, sub-acute, community, mental health, and aged care settings throughout metropolitan, regional, and remote Australia. She has worked extensively with clients presenting with complex and varied conditions, including neurological disorders, cognitive impairment, chronic illness, degenerative disease, and psychosocial disability. Her experience is with clients across the lifespan, with a strong focus on functional performance, client-centred care, and achieving meaningful outcomes across diverse practice environments.
Her clinical practice is grounded in comprehensive functional, cognitive, and home-based assessments designed to inform individualised rehabilitation, reablement, and support planning. She demonstrates a well-developed ability to articulate the impact of illness or injury on a person’s ability to complete everyday tasks, underpinned by sound clinical reasoning and high-quality documentation. This includes providing recommendations for assistive equipment, home modifications, and support services to promote safety, independence, and quality of life within the individual’s environment.
Complementing her occupational therapy degree with a Master of Mental Health, Maddie brings enhanced insight into the needs of individuals with co-occurring mental health conditions. This qualification has strengthened her ability to deliver holistic, trauma-informed care, and contributes to her nuanced understanding of complex psychosocial presentations. It also supports her ability to work effectively with clients experiencing psychological distress, cognitive changes, or behavioural challenges.
Maddie is known for her adaptable and client-centred approach, with a commitment to professional integrity, thoroughness, and empathy. She has demonstrated strong multidisciplinary collaboration and service coordination, including in rural and remote contexts where service access is limited. Her ability to navigate a variety of funding systems and jurisdictional requirements has supported her ability to deliver practical, individualised solutions even in resource-constrained environments.
Through her diverse roles, she has built expertise in clearly documenting and communicating clinical findings to a wide range of stakeholders, including clients, families, healthcare teams, and external providers.
